Amber springs in gorey is very good. We've been the last 2 years and will go again this year. We went during the week last year and loved it so will go on a Monday or Tuesday again this year. Only 2 trains in the evenings so not as busy and much more relaxed.

No loss on rathwood. Have never done the Santa train but have done other events and they are getting worse. Rushed, crazy busy. Definitely wouldn't interest me for Santa train.

Have heard alot of good things about Huntington Castle and Gardens Santa experience and also about the one in Castlecomer discovery park.
To be honest in my opinion Rathwood is over hyped for the santa experience as it just feels so rushed and crowded these days.

Castlecomer used to be our kids favourite then santa went and found a younger Ms.Claus and it ruffled feathers. Since then Lullymore is the place for us it's very good although last year wasn't as good as previous years so perhaps a change.

breakfast in the Arboretum is good, especially if the kids are anyway shy or scared of Santa (which does happen). They can watch other kids go up first to understand what is happening. The Santa is very good. Presents aren't brilliant but to be its about the experience as much as anything else. Plus you can go and get fed yourself whilst waiting
