    For Dublin 6pm on weekdays...
    Construction site causing noise

    We investigate complaints regarding noise nuisance caused by construction sites. Construction sites, by their very nature, can create a great deal of noise, with some activities e.g. pile driving, causing particular disturbance. The aim of our investigation is to determine compliance with the principles of best practice with regard to the minimisation of noise from the site.

    Construction site work starting early in morning or continuing late into the evening:

    The permissible hours of operation of a building site within Dublin City are;

    Monday to Friday 07.00 – 18.00

    Saturday 08.00 – 14.00

    Sundays and Public Holidays No noisy work on site.

    Maybe it was critical to do it out of work hours for traffic handling purposes.
    Better a few people disturbed than the whole area blocked up in the morning with traffic.

    Each Planning Application can have specific working hours attached to it. Normally in Dublin its 8am to 6pm mon to fri and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.

    In saying that, if you have big pours, large structural sections, then you can apply for a late hours by email and generally its given as long as they are not taking the pi55.

    With road re-surfacing, it has to be done during the night, same goes for line marking.

    Less traffic
    work gets done quicker
    Health and Safety as roads are quieter
