Outlander PHEV parking brake recall

Comments

I see on the ccpc website that the Outlander has been recalled due to an issue with the parking brake. Has anyone received a letter on this yet? Does the repair take long?

    thanks

Nothing yet - what year is your one? Apparently they were going in batches and 2013 and 2014 were first. 2015 next in line mid September so in my case need to sit out and wait

2015 also, but a recent import. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I have a 2016 model - a UK import - and the MOT website says there's an active recall on the car, but when I called Mitsubishi Ireland, they said it wasn't on their list (actually, the guy I spoke to was a bit of a d1ck), so if they've yet toi get to 2016, maybe the call will come in the next few weeks...

I had the exact opposite experience with the guys in Mitsubishi Ireland. Very helpful and told me my 2015 would be in the 2nd batch of recalls in Sep.

Yup, same here - the guy I have spoken to was really nice.

Looks like we are on the same boat - I think they might not have enough spare parts so need to go with batches

    Got my recall letter yesterday
    • Rear brake caliper shaft, water intrusion
    • Door locks to be replaced, high temps may cause them to not work properly
    • ECU relay to be replaced, can overheat

Got mine too, but no mention of door locks or ECU relay, only rear brakes. I presume the other 2 don't apply to my VIN. Had my brakes done last month by my local dealer, very helpful I have to say.

Yeah got mine yesterday too. Callipers, door locks and ECU relay. Earliest date I could get was 17 December with my local Mitsubishi dealer.

Was thinking of asking how much he'd charge me for Mitsubishi's free health check while he has the car...

You don't usually get a loaner for a recall.
Work is expected at a few hours.

You may have some loaner coverage through your insurer, check with them.

Got mine done last week. Took about 3 hours for the three issues.
