    Know some people in this who claim they're making money off this for the last year or so.

    Sounds like a ponzi but they have had partnerships with things like the bundesliga in Germany, the top tier football division and other high profile organisations.

    I don't get how it makes money but the ones I know claim to be making money.

    Seems pretty harmless to me since you dont invest any of your own money into it. You just need to use it as a social media platform.
