Hi I am looking for any info on Channing front brake pads on my vw Jetta. The brake pad wear light has come on. I have changed pads before on different vehicles. Where pretty much opened the sliders, whipped out pads, pushed back the caliper and changed the sensors. Just wondering is there a difference with Volkswagen and with this Jetta model,? Any help appreciated

That attitude wont get you anywhere in life, accept you dont know what your doing and leave alone. One mistake on your behalf could kill people. Just go to a garage.

The nature of the DIY forum is to discuss doing jobs for yourself. If they aren't confident they can visit a mechanic.

Let's just try and answer their question for now.

Yes, there is nothing special about them, its a few years now since I did them, it may have been on a 2009 Golf, the main "tool" was/is a 7 MM allen key and a short bit of pipe, the rest is straight forward.

You should see two rubber blanking grommets covering the access to the Allen Bolts, just ensure you replace them when finished as they keep everything nice and clean for the next time.

Brake pads are not rocket science and to be honest I have much more faith in my brakes when I've worked on them myself than garage because I know I have checked everything. Too many garages stick the young lad on servicing with little supervision.
    The jetta isn't anything special.
The caliper on the front of a jetta is to be push back so straight forward. The pads likely only have a sensor wire on the passenger side. This should be a simple push fit connector to open when removing old pads and plug in connector on new set.
Personally, I open bleed screen for pushing back caliper piston then bleed when complete. Some just push fluid all the way back through system.
There is no resetting required for the pad wear light or anything like that.

Worked on several VWs and Audis. The brakes are nothing special so suitable for a DIY job. Just take your time and use common sense. If you get stuck, ask for advice.
