Mine is coming up on 6 years old (new when I bought the car), about 40k miles or so, so I think its due changing.
What cost am I looking at supply and fit, and anyone able to recommend someone in Sandyford area? Should I buy it online myself first, and if so from who?
    Cheers!

Don't buy a belt yourself unless mechanic asks you to.
It won't save you money and it might be difficult getting a mech to fit a belt they didn't order themselves.

This thread is 6 years old but gives you a price as it was then, and also some tips from George

    That’s for a diesel. Terry’s car is 1.6 petrol.

Price all in should be €280-300. The genuine parts are cheap. No point going spurious. Particularly when it comes to the water pump.

Nowhere in Dublin that I've tried quoting anything less than 350 unfortunately, and that was a cash job!

That's surprising. The parts are so cheap for them and they are one of the easiest belt jobs to do as well.

    Genuine belt kit is €83.45
    Water pump is €44.79
Add a tenner for coolant is €138 total for parts.

2.5 hours labour is plenty to do the job, at our rate that is €137.50

    That is €275.50 + 13.5% VAT = €312.69

We don't charge full retail on the parts so we discount the parts to round the total cost down to €300.

The lad charging €350 cash is making nice money....

Yes he is, and probably inferior parts used too.
Any garage up around Dublin who might do it around that price?
