I use this one for mapping out runs. It's not great on a mobile device though

    https://www.strava.com/

When you have set up an account, go in to Dashboard>My Routes.

Make sure to set to running as opposed to cycling.

Future option to get a garmin watch and pair with account so you can see personal records and track progress.

    Be wary. It's addictive.

It at least tries. Don't have personal experience myself but if you already have the watch, it seems you can pretty much try for free.

This is really good - and free. Works well on mobile too, and you can see the elevation profile of your route so there are no surprises! It seems to have a lot of paths/trails marked too, but if you're running on one that's not marked, or a beach, you can select the 'off road' feature for that part of the route.

There's an app as well with turn by turn navigation if you want to do a longer route.

I had the same requirement as you so I made myself a tool. Quite a few other people around the world are using this also.

    https://routespinner.com

It automatically finds routes that start and end at a point that you choose. I use it to give me options/ideas and then tweak the route using local knowledge.

    Feedback welcome.

Ah thanks, hadn't spotted that. The cron to renew it failed for some reason. Fixed now.

Is this on the app as well or need to go through the website?
