Private car leasing - one to three years

    Hi,
I've been looking at private car leasing in ROI for a one to three year period - and I can't find much on offer.
From what I understand so far:
    • Standard car hire companies: month-by-month is an option - this is more expensive (1K a month or more without discounts) due to the temporary nature, but only the standard car hire insurance is required. I guess this works if a car isn't needed all year around.
    • Traditional lease contract model: only a very small number of companies in ROI will privately lease this way, eg. leaseplan.ie (I can't find any others so far). Cost seems to be about 300 a month, however, you are also required to have a normal car insurance policy (as if you had bought a car), which is expensive anyway.

I'll keep the thread updated as I continue searching, but does anyone have any other experiences/companies to suggest? Thanks

Doubt there's much business for it because it'd be much cheaper to buy a car with 1 years tax & nct for 1k and then sell it cheap at the end of the year

Did you lease a car in the end? I see on leaseplan.ie they now arrange insurance. I like the way you can have all the maintenance covered
