Medical exam

    I passsd the physical and interview for general service 2018, words cannot explain how happy I am.

    I now have my medical on the 25th of this month. I am worried I will test positive for marijuana.

    It has been close to 3 weeks since I've completely stopped smoking both cigarettes and marijuana, both were a husk of my previous life style.

    From what I have been reading they have a threshold (50ng) for mairjunana meaning that if I keep up my new life style, I will test positive for marijuana but it will be below the threshold.

    My questions are;
    should I tell the medical officer of my previous life style?

    Should I be worried that I will not pass on the basis of marijuana being in my system regardless of the threshold?

    Are the army understanding of prior life styles to recruitment?

    I want to make it clear that I am NEVER going to return to the aforementioned lifestyle of cigarette and marijuana smoking regardless if I get accepted or not.

    I would like to explain this to the medical officer because I am also extremely thankful for what the recruitment process has already done for me so far.

    Thanks

    I don't believe the CRDT is part of the initial medical examination?

    I'm sorry I don't know what you mean by CRDT.

    Going off the email I was sent the medical will involve a urine and blood test and I am to fast the evening before.

    I assume it means CONTROLLED RANDOM DRUG TESTING

    Be nothing in the blood, trace in the urine if anything, be 5 weeks. And they have to test specifically for it. Thats normally done randomly.

    Do you think I should mention? The lifestyle was habitual smoking for some time.

    The one thing I don't want to do is shoot myself in the foot for the urine or blood test to reveal little

    Compulsory rather than controlled. Blood & Urine tests are not for CRDT, they are for medical reasons.
