Dumping water in Keatingspark during a hosepipe ban

Why are Irish Water dumping huge volumes of water in Keatingspark off the N7 when there is a hosepipe ban? There was an Irish water van on the side of the road and now it sounds like a waterfall coming from the main line that runs from near the reservoir at athgoe / castle warden to Rathcoole along the N7 through the field.

Were they using a hose pipe?

The stupidity of some posts is quite alarming.

Hose pipes are small volume flows, 12-18"+ mains are large volume flows being dumped out of the system that we are told is well below capacity.

The stupidity of some replies is quite alarming

The ignorance of some replies shows a lack of personal class

What does a hose pipe ban have to do with your whine?

Just to add an anti Irish water comment?

    Nonsensical

    Not a whine... a query.

I was sorry to see water charges come to an end and believe we should all pay for water but I would like to know what's going.

No more interaction with you now.

We have confirmed that there were works to repair a leak on the 1600mm main between Ballymore Eustace and Saggart on Friday night and Saturday morning. This may have led to some water being sourced to facilitate the safe repair of the main.

    I hope this information helps.

    Thanks,
    Allanah
