Refinancing an option?

Does anybody know if it’s possible to trade in a car you owe finance on for a newer one and keep financing it?

For example I’m almost half way through my repayments, I know the safest options are wait until it’s paid off or pay the lump sum.

But is it an option to trade in beforehand and go again with a new agreement?

In no hurry to change just want to know every option.
