Hi folks, I posted this on the IOT forum but it probably more correctly belongs here.

I bought a Tado smart thermostat that I am looking to replace my regular Apt timer switch with. The existing timer is one of these:

The wiring at the back of it has two blue neutrals in 3, two brown lives in 2 (live in) and a black (?) in 1 (live out).

The Tado back plate is like so (right):

The three slots on the left normally open (NO), normally closed (NC) and common (COM). The remaining slots are meant to be for unneeded wires.

How should the wires in the back of the timer correspond to the pins in the back of the Tado thermostat? I wasn't expecting to see a black wire at the back of the timer which is throwing me for a bit of a loop. Obviously I don't really know what I am at, but seems like this should be something I should be able to do with a bit of guidance, without bringing someone in?

    Did you get this sorted?
Took me a while to figure mine out. Problem in the end was the software on the thermostat was different to the radiator thermostats. I rang Tado who were able to tell me it was wired correctly then they logged in a pushed an update.

Hi dmca, see here - https://www.boards.ie/b/thread/2057908314#108061668
My issue was just not being exactly sure how to wire it up but luckily I got some help and it is all good now.
