Nico has signed a contract with Team Sunweb for those who haven't heard

Maybe BMC can do a deal with Pinot to help him into Red and let Theuns or Nico win the stage.

3 minute gap with 30 km to go... Should be enough to hold off the peloton.

If Nico doesn't win, I'd like to see Mollema take the victory

Hard to see who can win this ...some great climbers in this break but also some fast men

    too soon from Nico?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,506 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

Nico doesn't look to have too much left in the tank.

Impossible to predict who will win this

Beautiful scenery, doesn't look like typical Spain

Was just going to say , was there fire there maybe or is it just how the landscape is? Trees looked sparse and in bad shape in some places.

Pinot and rest of chase group has really slowed down. Looks like Yates will stay in red

    Hard to say

He let de Marchi go and didnt chase ...maybe tired but maybe wait for another day as Demma better bet

    De Marchi on the attack.

And in the peloton, Team Cannodale Drapac powered by First Education has ramped up the pace

Tough on Pinot... All that effort and get only gained 12 seconds in the end

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,256 ✭✭✭MPFGLB

Very tough on Pinot ...no one helped

BMC and riders with GC leaders couldn't

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,506 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

Fabio Aru lost 41 seconds at the end to Yates, Valverde, Quintana et al. He is not showing any promising form, I can see him being dropped like a stone in the high mountains

2014-15 were good for him stage wins and an overall and Giro stages, and a TdF Stage win last year but really other than that he's been an also ran in most races able to hang on to stay in top 10 in GC. I'd say 2018 was a bad year for him but really no worse really than years since his Vuelta win.

And Aru like Richie Porte is on 3 million euros a year !!

UAE are a strange team...they pay out all this money for 'stars' but have no real support riders of any substance to help
