Exterior - Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer / CQuartz DLUX

Interior - 50 Cal Precision interior dressing (out of stock on detailing shed)

    or

    303 Aerospace Interior Dressing

One thing you don't want is a shiny dashboard because when the sun hits it this will reflect in the windscreen. Only use something that brings the life back into plastics, not makes it shiny.

I use Meguiars Reflect Tyre Shine It's pricey but one can lasts a long time. Make sure tyres are dry, spray on sparingly, remove any overspray from alloys and leave to dry.

I used use Meguiars Endurance Gel but got sick of the whole having to apply it with an applicator. Much easier to just spray on and leave to dry.

Can't agree more on this. Just be sure to properly clean down/degrease the surface you're treating first.

During application, and tbh, that's a fair reflection on how the product cures (and lasts).

If you’re on a budget, there’s stuff called polytrol for around €12. I did my plastics 3 months ago and they’re still good.

The gtechniq is probably longer lasting though.

Would you like those pix to be any bigger!

Be careful with interior trim - it may not be relevant but if you have a dark grey/black dash surface which is flat or tilts even slightly towards the screen do not make it shiny as it'll be reflected in the glass you are looking through.

Sorry. Tis effort to reduce them, but usually your browser will scale them down so I don't bother. Chrome does for me.

Out of curiosity, whats the best way to get C4 off glass? I got a bit on my wing mirror and the bloody stuff is still there 2 months later. Tried degreaser but no luck. Alcohol?

If it is really bothering you alcohol is good place to start, if that doesn't work then maybe then maybe a joint? :D

I heard a magic sponge is good for that sort of thing

Polish used for correction should get it off. If you have Cerium Oxide (CarPro CeriGlass) that will certainly remove it.

Gtechniq G4 should also do the job, it's a very strong acid based glass polish and I've used it for stronger costing residue that I might have caught on some glass. It's an excellent product to just own and have around.

I wouldn't be surprised if G4 was the same product as Ceriglass, just marketed differently.

It's good stuff until it turns into a paste in the bottle :pac:

Not in my experience, G4 in some circumstances takes off a lot more contamination by hand than ceriglass by machine has for me. I haven't tried to correct swirls by use of G4 yet though but it's not marketed as that kind of product.

Did you ever use G4 with a rayon pad? ;)

Nope not yet, haven't really done any correction of glass, usually just not worth it in my opinion, to freshen up yes, but to fix, not so much.
