As per the title, I just treated myself to a 2015 BMW (f10) 535d M-Sport. Was thinking abt the 2.0 black edition A6 and then came to my senses:)

Car is in fron the UK and is unbelievable to drive, can’t believe a car that heavy can move so quick.:D

Anyhow, it’s got a lot of toys, but not them all and was wondering abt a few things. Basically can the below list be coded or does it require additional hardware.

    1. Mirrors don’t fold
2: boot opens automatically via fob, but doesn’t close
    3. Launch control
    4. Sports display (business Nav only)

Also best place/price to get an OEM rear boot lip M-sport spoiler

Any other info or experience on these would be great.

    Thanks...

Congrats on the new car and welcome to the club.

To answer a few of your questions:
    1. Mirrors don’t fold. If they were not speced from the factory then your looking at having to get wiring looms, motors, etc as well as coding. The ones from the factory also dim with the interior rear view mirror as well as tilt when the car is in reverse. Retrofitting will not be cheap and not sure if it's worth the effort to be honest.

    2. boot opens automatically via fob, but doesn’t close. This feature comes with the optional advanced comfort access which includes keyless entry. I'd imagine wiring again would be needed so not sure it's worth the effort.

    3. Launch control. Some older cars didn't have this unless they had the adaptive chassis dampeners speced afaik but I think by MY 2015 it was standard on the 6 cylinder cars up. Here is a tutorial video >
I tried it once or twice for the novelty but I cannot imagine all that torque in one push does your transmission any favours long term.

    4. Sports display (business Nav only). I think this can be coded to display using Bimmercode but not sure if the dials will actually work on cars that don't have the ProNav iDrive. I'm open to correction though.

OEM boot spoiler would probably need to be sourced from a BMW dealer and I cannot imagine it being that cheap, worth getting a price though. You can source non OEM ones from ebay and some even come pre painted in your colour. They only stick onto the boot anyway so not sure it needs to be OEM.

Sports displays - I coded this on my F30 and while I have the displays, they don't actually work.

Boot spoiler - got the M-Performance one for mine and had it sprayed and all for about £240 I think it was from JKC in Coleraine.

Mirrors - Did you hold down the lock button for 3-5 seconds and still nothing? If so then I'm afraid you don't have it. It can be coded to fold automatically upon locking i.e. without having to hold down the button or it can be coded to be delayed longer than 5 seconds.

Your mirrors do fold, just the old fashioned way by hand!

    Congrats on the new car.

Folding mirrors will have a button on the inside of the driver's door next to the other power mirror adjustment buttons. If you don't have that then they are not power folding.

Thanks for the reply folks, some great info there:)

In terms of coding software, what's the best to get for reasonable money.
I have the bm technic package I bought for the e60 some time back that had INPA, DIS and a few others. Connection through OBD2. V good too, Bought this in 12 I think, so don't know will it work on this car.

Seeing carly mentioned a bit, has anyone any experience?

    Thanks

Carly is a bit pricey imo.

I bought this ODBC wifi adapter from amazon:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06ZZRNYVD/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I downloaded the Bimmercode app from the Apple/Play store and it works well with the above adapter. There is a once off fee of €30 for Bimmercode which allows you to code any F or G Series models.

Thanks for this. Will check it out👍👍
Is it user-friendly or is it like INPA?

Also is there good info regarding coding changes/upgrades with this application. Know nothing about it, so appreciate the feedback..

The app user interface is very easy to use, you don't need to be a coder to use it.

    Here is a tutorial:

what kind of coding changes can you make on an f10?

Can you switch off the auto-stop as a default?!

Lot's of little stuff, like the intervals between the headlamp washers firing or seat heating temp.

Really useful stuff like wireless bluetooth steaming for early NBT's and yes, 'disabling start/stop' entirely or much better 'remember last setting' (which I wish I had).

'Launch' devices are getting a hell of alot of good press for usability and access. Look them up on Aliexpress you have to buy license for each new model you buy but some come with 3 Makes included in the price.

There is ones available that come with cable and adaptor and software installed on Android device.

Pulled the trigger on that spoiler today from JKC for £240, was costing me €320 here so a nice saving. Comes with the adhesive tape so just needs painting.

Replaced the carbon fibre effect aluminium centre console today as it had a few scratches on it that was letting it down.

Anyone know a good place to get pro nav hardware and have it installed or will I be able to code it with bimmercode?

Where did you source the console trim? Mines got a few rub marks on it so was considering changing it if it wasn't too expensive.

I bought the pro nav hardware myself on eBay but there is'nt a hope in hell you'd code it without serious knowledge. Bimmercode wont do the job.

Be very careful about buying a used idrive. It can be risky as there is a chance it might be faulty. Also there was a bad batch of NBT iDrives fitted to 2013/2014 5 Series that BMW had a puma alert for on the qt, the display would constantly flicker on warm days. Happened to my last 2014 F10 when we got a few warm days during one summer when I returned to the car and the cabin was hot. Luckily BMW replaced it under warranty for me but even though I recorded it on my phone for them it was difficult to replicate unless the car was left out in the sun all day.

Bought the console from main dealer in limerick. €210 which wasn't bad. Fitting took about 1.5 hours. Pretty straight forward.

I assume pro nav can be coded with INPA. have used it in the past so not a total novice.

Does anyone know where to get the latest version and if there is a tutorial out there for pro nav upgrade
