Considering an suv which has a 2.0TDi but has both 115 and 150bhp options.

other than the cost difference, what are the pros and cons of having a 150 over a 115 bhp model of the same size engine?

Depends on the size and weight of the suv in question. Have you driven both?

It's a tiguan. Driven both but I can't notice anything significant on a short test drive.

Just wondering if , in general, one is better or worse than the other for any reason.

Try and get a better test drive in each. How much difference in price is there between them? Is the 150bhp 4wd?

No, both 2wd. About 2k in the difference.

If you can give the years of the cars in question, we can be a bit more specific about what each one does. But generally, the 150bhp will be quicker to accelerate than the 115, while the 115bhp will be more economical on fuel.

Take the 2016 models for example

the 115 is rated at 0-60 mph in 10.6 seconds, while the 150 is rated at 9 seconds.
Fuel economy is 60 mpg for the 115 while the 150 is somewhere between 50 and 60 mpg, depending on the specific model.

Obviously these numbers are what the manufacturer claims and achieved under specific conditions, and real world performance will differ.

But the bottom line is that the 150 versions will have a bit more power than the 115, and therefore potentially use a bit more fuel (assuming you use the extra power).

Personally, for something the size of a Tiguan, I'd go with the 150 version. I'm assuming since you're looking at a diesel that you won't be just doing city driving and it'll be out on the motorway and in situations where you'll be overtaking.

You say there's 2K in the difference. Is there any other difference between the two cars you're looking at? Years, milage, condition, spec level?

I was looking at New or nearly new but the 150bhp are harder to find.

No difference in spec, exact same car just different bhp.

Had both . 150 all the way. Loads of torque when you need it. 115 gets very boring very quick.
