    Hi all.
Will be filing a tax return soon (I get rental income) and am jointly assessed with my husband. Up to now I used the hard-copy of the Form 12 which I filled out completely each time and then a few weeks later would have a letter back stating my husband has to fill out a Form 11 and return (just a duplication of the information already provided in form 12).
Up to 2016 my husband also had rental income but it was sold at end of 2016. So for 2017 he is a regular paye worker. So I want to do my tax return on line this year. I have a digital cert and log in for ros and for my account ..but where is the correct place to file ? I did send an email but could take 20 days for a response. I want to get a start on it soon if I can as it drives me mad every year !!

Thanks turnipman. Given that my husband had no additional income last year he doesn't need to file a form11 this time. He was (and still is ) a paye worker with no additional income.
And can I file a form11 this year (I was self employed years ago so think that's where the form 12 comes in?) Sorry for all the questions...I can find loads on line about how to fill it and but nothing about who needs to fill it in
That's the end of my query then..thanks a mill. Appreciate your help.

I may be/ most likely am wrong about this but some years ago I had friend in same situation as your hubby re Case V income, Rent, Revenue asked for one more year of F11, showing zero.

Is your husband the assessable spouse? If so, the form will need to be filled in his name and you complete the spouse part of the form with your rental income and leave his blank but make sure put in both your paye and credits jointly if that makes sense.

If he still has an active income tax registration or if your profit exceeds €5000 you will need to.complete a form 11.

Because the form 11 will already be issued I would complete the return and then cease his registration if necessary.

Might be no harm to double check with your local income tax district anyways
