Not ideal, but given the expected shortage of silage everywhere this winter, it would be better then nothing and a lot of people would be happy if it.

It’ll be fine. Biggest problem from the end of September on will be slugs in the grass

Nobodies worried about quality this year. Anything will be better then nothing. I can’t remember so many farmers being short so much fodder at this time of year before. A lot of places that gave 10 bales to acre previous years are giving 4 this year. Extraordinary really and not in a good way.

Between the good year and being understocked this year for 1 reason or another I have maybe 3x the silage I will need and if this is a good a week as its giving there will be another 12 acres cut and baled...

The bales will be heavy for handling but your unlikely to have much mould.
Quality won't be spectacular but it won't kill them.

cut a hole near the bottom before feeding to let out some of the water
