I'm trying to get my hands on a pair of tickets for either the England or France game. I've seen tickets on sale for 778eur and 532eur respectively :/

Was hoping to try go with my father, he's never been to an international game, but an avid watcher on TV the last 25 years, thought it would be good to treat him.

Have I any hope of a sanely priced pair of tickets?

As they're still widely available, unless you're selling at half face value, pass :)

Very difficult to. Most tickets will go to the rugby clubs/schools and provincial branch committees and refs etc.
Orders from these are only going out at moment and they wont be on public sale. You will see some at lower prices closer to game but best bet is try find connections in a club

Sign up for the Supporters Club, it's your best chance.

You should apply through your local club.

Bring him to the Argentina game or the USA game. He has to start somewhere if he has never been to an International.

Been meaning to ask actually, about away games. I'm assuming they'd be easier to get tickets to than home games? How would one go about doing that - particularly if there was a tour / operator doing something - does anyone run these does anyone know? IRSC?

Supporters club is your best bet.

It costs 50 a year and you get hats/ scarves/ other tat.

It also gives you the chance to buy Ireland tickets.

They are by no means guaranteed a they're very forthright about that. But people have had success with them. I am a member and got myself All Black tickets. But I have been disappointed before.

Most every ticket goes to clubs it seems. Some go to supporters club. Then whatever is left (usually none) goes on general sale.

The easiest away tickets are Scotland, France and Italy. Register with the relevant Unions.

Loads of companies, just google 6 nations packages... Club Travel, Marathon Sports, Rugby Travel Ireland, Abbey Travel... Be careful as some dont include match tickets or offer the option to add them when you think they are included in the price.

Italy doesn't even need a register. it doesn't sell out and you can buy anytime - they are currently on sale
