Restoring van paint that had logos on it before?

Hey, hoping to attract attention of what seems to be folk knowledgeable on this who has posted above, so please don't close it just because it's a bit old :)

I'm just wondering has anyone dealt with blending the faded paint with the paint that was covered by vinyl before? Looking at a van which has old logos etc clearly visible due to the fade and would be nice to know what would be involved in blending it to hide it. Don't care for having the van sparkly, just not to have the old logos visible due to fade.

Would anyone here have the right tools to do it and how much would you charge? :)

    Moved out of 2014 thread

Did you check with local paint shops, I'm sure they'd seen this before

Don't think this would be one for paint shops tbh. A good detailer with a polisher might do the job just fine.

That would be my suggestion to, and what we used to get done on vans that had logo's removed and left marks on the van.

What colour is the van? White would be easiest to resolve.

Thanks for the replies. It's white thankfully, any recommendations on who to go with? Someone else just said a rotary polisher with some t-cut.

ROR, any idea of a price and if you know anyone who'd do it reasonable enough? It's probably easy enough to DIY if I just get a polisher maybe?!

That's a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" question as it depends on how much work is involved.

Might be best posting in the car cleaning forum for an idea and advice (I think that's what it's called)

Tar - x worked well for me recently for this. . It was a white van with some heavy duty decals on it for years

    Thanks ROR!

Shooter, this query is on how to deal with the fade that the parts not covered by the vinyl suffer, and to blend it with the less faded original paint under the vinyl once the vinyl has been removed.

I've used a similar Tar and glue remover before to get rid of the actual vinyl and vinyl residue, but it's how to deal with the fade after it's all been removed :o

Definitely polisher and proper knowledge is best way to remove, where are you based? Might be easier to find someone to sort it.
