Renewing learner permit without test date

So my learners permit is due to expire 7/09
I have an appointment tomorrow 31/08 to renew at NDLS

I have no date for a test (just an email dated 18/04 confirming I have cancelled the upcoming test and a new date will be issued in due course)

Am I going to be able to renew my licence with this email as proof of upcoming test? I am waiting for a date in Gorey, the waiting list seems to be at around the 25 week mark at the moment just to get a date. I am on the cancellation list too. I have emailed RSA to see if I can get some confirmation of an upcoming test (just to have something to show NDLS) and no luck, just getting automated email reply

    Any advice?

I have just applied for my test - first-time permit holder - this was written on the email from the RSA

If you are applying for a third or subsequent Learner Permit, you can use this letter as evidence that a driving test is being arranged for you.

Don't know if that helps you?

Unfortunately the email I have just reads-

"I acknowledge receipt of your request to cancel a test appointment made for your driving test which was scheduled to be conducted on Saturday 05/05/2018 at 12:45 in Gorey.

Your application is still valid and another test appointment will be issued to you in due course"

I guess I'll just have to chance it, I have waited as long as I possibly can to renew my licence, tbh, I was expecting to have a date at minimum between April and now!

It'll be fine. All you actually need is the email confirming that you paid for the test.

No, you do not have to have a test date- tests are usually issued with only a month to six week's notice so imagine how messy that would be!
I renewed my last permit in the summer after cancelling one test appointment and didn't have a test for another and it was fine. :)
