How many protein bars are too many? I'm on my third today after doing a three compound morning exercise of squat, military press and chin ups.. felt I needed the extra

Too many for what? They shouldn't be making up the majority of your protein but the odd bar isn't doing any harm.

All of the previous questions but also why did you feel you needed the extra protein bar after a workout?

Cos I was weaker on the same sets that I did last week so felt maybe I wasn't getting enough Protein after my workout. It's kind of a test.

Before checking your protein bar levels .. consider how sleep, work, dinners, stress, family life etc is affecting your performance !!

No two days are ever the same

Protein won't be the magical answer. There are many other factors that whippet has referenced but it may be just that you needed more calories on board. There is absolutely no reason for those calories to be from protein or protein bars.
