    Hi,
Does anybody know the rough timeframe for these applications to process and refund(s) to issue?

the short answer is longer than you would think

I applied in October 2017 and received a letter confirming my application had been approved and passed to my local tax office for payment in March 2018 (so 6 months).

Payment has still not been made to date! Almost 11 months after my initial application.

I have contacted my local tax office for an update on payment on a couple of occasions and they knew nothing about my application and passed me back to the black hole that is the SURE office. To be fair I have heard the office responsible for the SURE refund is understaffed, but I would have assumed that once the application was approved the payment should follow swiftly.
