    Hello,

    A quick one here.

Has anyone any experience of wesellyourcar.ie?

I'm in the market to change and it sounds like an interesting concept.

    Thanks!

How much commission are they charging for selling your car? They also state in their FAQ they give the new buyer a warranty on the car they buy from you. I'd imagine that means they need to pay you a fair bit less than what they get for it to make it worth their while. Sounds very similar to just asking a regular dealer to sell the car on their forecour, on your behalf for a fee.

I'd say you would get one third the car would retail for on a forecourt, otherwise it wouldn't be worth their while.

They’ve even got re-enacted customer videos. Top class I’d say

Fake customer videos, pay buttons for ones car.

These places agree a price and usually change the price then also.

They seem to be SIMI type of a dealership though.

I applied with one of these crowds for the craic last year to see what they'd give me for my car.

08 Vw Golf 1.9TDI - they offered me €2,500 for it. I declined and they said the most they'd give me was €3,000.

A week later I sold the car for €4,800 via DoneDeal.

Probably just ideal if you want to get rid of a car ASAP and don't care what you get for it. These lads need to make their profit too I guess.

A good auction house will do better.

I've sold two via Merlin in the past couple of years. A van and a terios.

Both got far more than I expected and substantially more than a trade-in price less cash discount.

That has little or no bearing to a customer or the service they are offering though. The SIMI are only there to serve their dealer members.

To be fair, this isn’t a cash for cars scenario, you only get paid if/when they sell it. It’s unclear whether they take the car for the duration. I’d imagine it’d be hard to sell a car you don’t have.

In fairness, they're paying over half to take that hassle away. Better rate than I thought it would be.
