Authorised dealer Rolex discounts.

    Dear all,
I'm considering buying a Rolex Datejust 41. I'll get some kind of discount from a local AD as I've bought jewellery from them before but not sure how much yet. (As I wasn't buying it today I didn't want to go too deep into negotiations.)

The same watch is €1,000 cheaper in Lunn's/ the UK.
My questions are: Would I get a discount in Lunns? If not, the local discount could end up being a similar price and I'd rather buy locally. How much is an average discount in an Irish AD- I don't want the salesman pretending he's doing me a favour but gives the same discount to everyone? Lastly, I'm travelling to the US through Heathrow next month. Any idea what the duty free saving at Heathrow is?
Thanks for any advice as I appreciate you get lots of these types of requests.

On a datejust a AD will have 5 -10% discount to give. They cant give them away so push for a hard deal or better yet buy used.

Rhodium and blue dialled 41s can be somewhat tricky to get reductions on according to the Rolex forum. Discount for leaving EU from Heathrow is the vat, so almost 17% off the sticker price.

Thanks for the replies - much appreciated. The blue dial is the one I want. I called up Heathrow and they said they'll call me if they can get one in. The price she gave me was over two grand cheaper than a local AD here between UK price and VAT off. The issue will obviously be getting one. Thanks again.
