    Hi

I had to request a P21 form from the revenue commissioners this week and just had a quick look at it now. It shows my earnings and tax credits for the year but I paid about €2000 into my pension fund and this isn't shown anywhere on the form. The P21 states that I underpaid my tax by around €150. I know that you don't pay paye on your pension contributions so is the P21 form wrong or is the pension contributions taken into account and It just doesn't be shown on the form.

    Thanks for reading and replying.

How was the pension paid by you. Through your payroll or privately yourself.

Forgot to say I'm an employee and the pension was paid through payroll.

Then you shouldn't see the pension contributions on your P21 as a relief/credit. Is your gross pay for PAYE lower than you gross pay for USC? If so then you've received relief for the pension deductions and your P21 is correct.

Any chance your P60 has a week 53 marker on it?
