    Hi all,
Do you know how accurate is the VRT calculator in Revenue page?
Is there a way to request a formal "quote" from Revenue before importing a car?
    Thanks,
    Bruno

Its accurate ish - by the time you get the actual quote it might be lower (always was in my case) but it gives a good estimate about what to expect.

When I say lower I mean - 100-200 eur lower dont expect the bill to be half. If you are buying something that isnt popular it might not be there, also for PHEV you might get several quotes (as they have multiple lines for the same models).

A good idea is that if you bought the car and get it VRTd make sure to print out the Calculator as at least thats the max you will pay

    Hope this helps

Many thanks for the feedback. I just want to get a Lexus IS300H so I believe it can be considered popular. :)

And does anyone knows what S/S means? I have 2 options of the car in VRT Calculator:
    1. H F SPORT E-CVT 4DR AUTO
    2. H F SPORT S/S E-CVT 4DR AUTO

    Thanks in advance,
    Bruno

Start/Stop, likely to have lower C02 as a result

Actually the one with S/S is more expensive...don't ask me why... :)

If it's an Italian car it could be Series Speciale which is a Limited Edition. Had that on my Fiat Coupe's registration cert going back yonks. It was sold as a Limited Edition here and the UK.

Lexus is Japenese brand. I believe it's the start/stop because VRT calculator shows lower co2 emissions, but with almost 700eur additional...don't understand this calculation.

Whats the difference in the quote? Go for the most accurate one (and if possible lower) and make sure to print it :)

The one with S/S costs 700eur more (from 2300 to 3000) and shows less co2...

I found it to be quite accurate when I imported. No surprises

Friend of mine imported an IS300h recently, calculator was accurate down to the €

Re the stop/start, they all have that. It refers to a revised spec/facelift. the 2017 model has slightly higher co2 emissions, it doesn’t affect the VRT rate, but because it’s a newer version it’s valued higher.

Many thanks for the reply. So it means that the S/S is only applicable to 2017+ model?

    I paid as predicted
