I have a heifer due about a month from now due to calf to an unknown sire probably a neighbour's weanling bull she'll be 21 months when calved.. I have her on hay and a pre calving mineral lick bucket but she's still well conditioned a little bit too much but she should go down to 2.5 /3 fat score when up against calving what would people recomend to feed her to ensure she has milk yet that she doesn't have an enormous calf. I'm normally not nervous with my pre calving feeding regime but this is a well muscled heifer and it is possible she was tipped by a bb x weanling.

I have used oats in the past where I have had a concern.

Or maybe just a shake of soyabean meal. High in energy and high in protein to help produce adequate quality biestings.

If you have an idea of when she is due, give her a bit extra energy in the diet the week before she calves, her appetite will decrease anyway nut the extra energy will hopefully help her during and after calving.
