Buying a repo / from the bank

Currently in the process of bidding on a repossessed house, looking for war stories to put me off. Already have been dragged along for weeks with people being sick/on hols. From other posts looks like anything from 6 weeks to a year or more even, and the potential for issues for solicitors paperwork. Anything else I need to consider?

Property is empty now but had been let out up until recently.

Any house can take upto a year to close in fairness. Banks just tend to meet about these things once a month or so, which slows things down.
