So by the weekend I will have to make a decision on my trusty 05 E class diesel 2.8
Put a fresh nct on it (very little wrong with it). A mates been driving it since late June with the intention of taking it home to Poland but it looks like thats not gonna work out.
So given the punitive tax and 300k km plus mileage is it worth putting an nct on it and dealing with tyre kickers and hagglers?
With a fresh years nct I was kinda thinking of hopeing for 1500 (allowing for a few hundred quid for getting it through the nct).Given it was tested late in late May and sailed through I dont see too much of an issue getting a fresh cert!
    OR
Just cut my losses and bring it to a scrappy and get what I can.

With the 1500 tax and our fantastic (not) insurance system I fear a perfectly good and lovely car is destined for the scrappy.

Oh what to do ..what to do!

Nct it. Even if it fails and you don't want to fix it you can provide the fail cert to anyone interested. I'm not sure on the value of these however.

Would there be any sense in trying to sell it up north? or the uk? I feel the market there might be a bit more kind for such cars.
