Currently doing up our mass booklet and my god is it difficult.

Finding loads of templates etc.. we are having a church wedding and some of the templates look grand, however alot of them seem to have different structures to the mass.

We are doing our best to fit our music into the template we have been given but its difficult to envisage what is too long or too short etc..

For instance we were gave a song choice for the candle lighting, however on the mass booklet there are 2 candle lighting parts, individual candles and a single candle. and both occur at either end of the ceremony I believe. So which requires the song?

I'm sorry if its such a silly question but I would appreciate any input in terms of what the actual structure should be. The priest has not really been of any assistance on this, but I do know its down to us. We are placing the readings around the music pretty much.

Hiya. When I was doing up the booklets the priest gave us a disc with the wording on it so we were sorted there. We had free reign with the music so I found it really hard to choose too! What I did was emailed our singer and he gave us a list of his songs and where they would fit into the ceremony. He also suggested adding an optional extra at the end of communion in case it took longer than expected. I just left this one off the booklet.
For the lighting of the candle I just picked one song, Songbird, so he did one verse for each time. It worked out well!
Happy to share what I had if you want to pm, only that our priest prefers to use the older mass wording, so it's not relevant to most places anymore!

    Hi there,
Usually the individual candles are lit at the beginning of the ceremony (the bride gets to the top of the altar, then her and groom go up and light their individual candle)

Like the other poster, I had Songbird walking up the aisle and the singer kept singing while we lit the candles and then finished when we both sat down.
We had a different song when we lit our unity candle together.

Feel free to pm if you need any hints or tips! Good luck!

Thank you so much guys for the advice its really helpful.

Would anyone have a draft template for the standard catholic wedding mass? Putting this together is such a headache. Trying to insert the music at the appropriate time and to reflect that on the booklet.

The priest has been no help whatsoever with this
