HI all, just some advice, please.

A family member worked the last 15 years, uninterrupted in the higher income tax bracket. This is the first time ever that she or I am dealing with social / benefits.

She went on sick leave 3 weeks ago and was booked off by GP.
GP agreed that she is unfit for work and completed part of the Illness Benefit cert and she completed the rest.

Submitted paperwork by normal post to address on the form: Dublin 1, 2 weeks ago.

Since then, submitted 1 additional form, as she is going in weekly to GP.

On the form, it said if something is not completed correctly, they will reach out to her.

We have heard nothing back, and has not yet received any payment either from Social?

How long does it normally take until the first payment is paid?

Just to be clear, it is 3 weeks now since was booked off and I know you will not get anything for the first 6 days.

    Thanks

Unfortunately Illness Benefit are afflicted with a huge technical problem for the last week. There is a thread about this on this forum and if you have a twitter account Welfare are giving daily updates on the crisis. If your family member has no other income then they need to see the CWO for an SWA.

    Thank you.

Just saw the issues. Luckily she does not need the funds urgently, just wanted to make sure it is not her error. she is still getting her salary from work, she just needs to inform work of the amount, so that they can deduct it from her salary.
