    Hi all,

Stumbled upon these babies at a dealer, anyone any experience with them? They look like decent yokes with decent poke and the hybrid thing makes them quite appealing. I'm just wondering if anyone on boards had one by any chance? How are they to insure as I'm pretty sure they were never imported here in the first place?

    Thanks guys!

Any Fit would be a used Japanese import, which may cost more to insure - so I think you'd be best off getting quotes first before considering it.

The European model is the Jazz, but I don't know how common the hybrid variant is.

Thanks, yeah I'm aware they're jap imports, but most of them are actually not that bad to insure provided they're a model that have been sold here as well. But the RS or the hybrid RS haven't so I was really just fishing for a potential actual owner here to see what they're like to live with.

I think I'll ring insurances to see if they've heard of it and would entertain a quote...

The jap import insurance thing only really relates to the high end stuff, Evo's, STi's etc etc

My father in law recently swapped from an Octavia to a Prius (JDM) and no insurance increase at all.

123.ie(It was RSA I guess) once cancelled my ongoing insurance policy because I bought a Toyota vitz 1.0 (60 bhp) and they can't insure japanese imports.I had to move to Axa. That was 4-5 years ago. Maybe changed now.

I was with RSA on my Evo 5.
But Insurance company polices change year on tear depending on the amount of a particular demographic of insured they want/need on their books to make a profit.

The hybrid was sold in the UK so maybe see if there is an equivalent there

Thanks all for your replies, I'll get on the insurance next week to see what they say and report back.

Hey all, as promised, rang a few insurance yesterday, only my current one (of the ones I rang) would entertain a quote (AXA), wasn't that high though (considering). Wanted 950 full comp with NCB protection and breakdown assist as well as driving other cars.

Won't be buying one myself but hope this is useful to someone.
