    Hello all,

So we are thinking of getting CCTV for home.

Has anyone ever come across wireless CCTV kits? How Have they worked for you?

Battery cameras would be so much less hassle than wires.

We've had wired ones in a previous house and broke our hearts.

Looking online they could be described as wireless but actually still need a power source. So the recording is wireless but still not battery operated.

    What has anyone else bought?

    Thank you!! ðŸ˜

The Nest cameras connect wirelessly to the internet and provide high quality pictures and night vision in addition to a number of other nice features. However they require a power supply.

....except you will spend a lot of time replacing batteries.

Which ones? Technology has moved on a lot. There are may high quality hardwired IP cameras available such as Hicvision. Going wireless does not necessarily improve the picture quality or reliability.

Generally speaking wired devices are more reliable then wireless.

Not sure what you mean by this. Many people record to the cloud now.

Good to know thank you for the advice.

I may just opt for wires so and take the time to wire in.

    Thank you!

Id have no issue going wireless for the camera. As stated it does need power though. However it would alleviate the need to run rj45 back to the router.
