Small Claims Court? Help please!

Hello *waves* I am trying to lodge a claim through the small claims court. It's against a courier company who lost a package of mine in December. I returned the claims form to them in March and have not heard from them.

But the form I'm filling in for the small claims court asks me for their Company Registration Number (CRO) . How do I go about finding this, does anyone know? As far as I can tell it's not on the website and I've looked up cro.ie and it doesn't seem to be there. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Thank you. I've tried there, all I get is 'sorry no matches found'

You need to find out what name they are registered under as it can be slightly different to their operating name

Whois their website, it may give the actual registered name.

Thank you both, I'm not sure what name they could be using but I'll keep trying a few variations. I think I've tried any logical names, I hope they're not registered as something completely off the wall like Rumplestilskin Couriers :D

Hi ED E, no, I'm sorry, I don't think I did understand! Does that mean that their actual name might be A&G Couriers?

Thank you all for the help, I really appreciate it.

A & G Couriers Limited is the registered business, Fastway is just a trading name.

Careful there fastway is a franchise rather than a trading name. A&G may not be the master franchisor for Ireland or your region nor the company engaged to deliver your parcel (it may be).

You should review any documentation you received to see if there is a company name which would be preferable.

Otherwise you can change the search parameters to "contains" on the cro site, you will find related business names.

Someone else can comment on whether the Irish courts are tolerant of joining multiple entities where uncertainty as to the respondent exists or on naming an respondent from a group operating under a business name which may not be the correct entity but the true entity has been concealed.

I didn't realise this would be as complicated! Thank you to everyone for your help, I have begun the process now anyway, just waiting for SCC to get back to me.
