1.4 Passat - underpowered?

    Looking for a replacement car. And have spotted a 1.4 Passat that’s the right price. This is going to be a family car with about 40km a day out on it, as well as the odd weekend down the country.

    I had a 1.8 auto Passat a couple of years ago and it was a beast of a car. Very powerful. Would a 1.4 be underpowered?

    It’s a 2008. Anything to look out for?

    If you thought an older 1.8 Passat was powerful then you should have no issue with a 1.4tsi.
