Has anyone got on OK upgrading from being an existing Sky+ HD Subscriber to getting it upgraded to SKY Q? - because from what I can see the offers seem to be weighted for new Sky subscriber for the Sky Q system - its just making me wonder if I would be better off leaving Sky+HD altogether and signing up as a new Sky customer just to get the deal

You would not be regarded as a new customer.

That would be against Sky's T & C's but every 2nd house in the country is at it

Yes, I upgraded from Sky+ HD Subscriber to SKY Q recently. I went to one of the Sky salespersons at a local shopping centre before phoning. I was advised to speak to a section called Sky Loyalties only.

I spoke first to a Sky call centre member who rattled of the usual trained waffle, before I made my demands and threat of cancellation. I was immediately passed through to the Sky Loyalties Section. I was offered a Sky Q upgraded with a great deal that suited my situation.

I basically got my Sky Q installed with an extra Sky Q mini box, similar to my previous Sky+ set-up. I have Sky Entertainment that contains all the basic channels. You can record up to 6 programs with Sky Q. I also took out the Sports extra offer for 6 months. I reduced my bill and had the upgrade and installation sorted for free within a week.

    My advice,

Speak only to a Sky staff member from the Sky Loyalties Section.

Stress your loyalty to Sky if you have been with Sky for along time.

Threaten to cancel your contract if you are not satisfied.

Sky Q upgrade & installation is free to existing customers.

The Sky Q box will be around for several more years.

    😉

Are there issues connecting the minibox to the main box? It's connected through the WiFi. The WiFi in our house wouldn't be the best.
