The house we are looking at was repossessed and the electricity has been disconnected at the meter. Its no big deal to get it reconnected just contact esb. But will this effect the bank giving us a mortgage. We have approval in principle already.

Can be v expensive to reconnect if it's been off for a while!
Shouldn't be an issue for the mortgage though.

    Hi Hillary.r

Thank you for getting in touch with us.
The electricity is a utility and the fact that it is not currently connected to the meter will not affect your mortgage drawing down.
I have attached a link with some handy tips here.

Best of luck with the move.

    Thanks,

    Lorna
