Best value TV to buy

I am happy with my old TV but have the opportunity to get a new one cheaper than retail prices.

Current TV is an Samsung 40" Series 8 EU40B8000XW which is 9 years old. It cost me €1700.

I use it for playing Blu Ray and console gaming. It's primarily plugged into my gaming PC for streaming tv shows, films and gaming. Only problem with gaming is the input lag even with game mode switched on is very noticeable.

What do I need to look out for when buying a new TV nowadays? UHD, 4K, HDR, refresh rates etc.

Is there quite a big difference between the two 4K formats?

Would the Panasonic tx50ex700b for about €450 be a good buy or are there better options for around the same price?
