I was supposed to be on flight FR7031 from FAO to DUB at 14.00 today. We were informed that there would be a delay and now departure is scheduled for 20.40.

Does anyone here know the reason for the delay? I’d like to know if I have grounds for an EU261 claim.

Your flight was to be on a Faro based aircraft operating Faro - Dublin - Faro. Getting into Dub at 1655 and back out at 1720.

This has been switched to Dublin based aircraft operating the rotation in reverse. Now departing Dublin as scheduled at 1720 getting into Faro at 2015 and back out at 2040.

Presumably tech or crew issue in Faro caused the switch. It is common to reverse sectors in this scenario as it leads only one of the two sectors being a delay. Straight forward EU261 claim

Keep an eye on FR7030 from Dublin to know if you will be on time as this is your ride home

Small update, in case this is helpful to anyone.

I submitted our EU261 claim to Ryanair the same night as we returned. Received the standard acknowledgment.

Last week I got a note to say they were experiencing high volumes and to give them some extra time (no limits mentioned).

Today, I just received an email to say that they have authorized my claim and to allow 10 days for the funds to transfer.

Overall, very happy. 11 working days since I submitted the claim.
