A work friend of mine was in the the Amy Adams/Matthew Goode film 'Leap Year'. (We have running joke about it, without exchanging words. He's also in the official trailer). Physical humour, eh? :pac: Oh, he's an extra in The Tudors.

Personally, I'm so sad that my telly thing was on a UTV news report about unemployment in the Irish Republic, in the early 90s (on O'Connell Street). I didn't even see it. I was told by a fellow student when I was a student too. And I was only spotted because of height.

Even though it was filmed a mile or two away fro me, I didn't bother going for Braveheart.

I and my family have been on 6-one News - it was summer we were down at the seaside enjoying out 99 cones and an election was on - Michael Noonan was running for leader (and tea shop, whatever its called) and there's me and the family sat on a wall when we was approached by an RTE reporter "is it OK if we film you for the news?" - yeah why not we said - "OK I just want to get it as though Micheal Noonan is pretending to steal your son's Ice cream ... and 'Roll!" .... and the rest is history , we starred on six-one and 9 o'clock news :)

Lets see - I was briefly in JoMaxi (any boardsies old enough to remember that show?:o) as a 14 year old as part of a group of secondary school pupils asked our opinions on modern buildings in Dublin.

My 19 year old mug very very briefly features on an episode of John Creedon's The Road Less Travelled as he flashes back to footage of Feile 1994. An old mate saw it and notified me!

and...that's it. I have had my name in the newspapers quite a few times - for the right reasons (my research).

Episode of Househunters (wouldn't recommend it, they did nothing for us and yer one is a bitch, Dermot actually quite a nice chap) and a few episodes of Vikings that I may or may not have been in. (Would definitely recommend being an extra for Vikings, even just for the experience. Having a big shaggy beard helps)

    Did she like them?

very down to earth apparently .. and so funny off air she said joking about with each other and the crew. they were all taking the mick out of the make up bloke , but he was loving it and joining in - its good when they all get on like that.

my mum went in TV audience years ago for a UK show and the main presenter was like a diva "get me this and get me that" and was shouting and miserable so and so she said - and then the floor manager said "rolling!" and the presenter put a massive smile on her face and said in a pleasant voice "welcome back to the show"

Was interviewed for the RTE 6 o’clock news by Samantha Librei once for a work thing.

An ex girlfriend appeared in a (non porn) film as ‘busty nurse no. 1’. Oh how I miss hers

I disgraced my school on Blackboard Jungle.

Reminds of a time watching that show. It came to the end and Ray Darcy commiserates with the losers 'hard luck, it was a nail-biting finish' - camera pans to the 3 lads and they all chewing on their nails :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,745 ✭✭✭laugh

You remember Blackboard Jungle? The schools quiz on RTE?

Well that was replaced by a very short lived disaster called Gridlock. presented by Derek Mooney.

During filming I spotted I could double Gridlock the other two teams, I said Double Gridlock Green & Blue etc, problem was we were Green, in front of the the school principal and my year head with the camera rolling I shouted "Aww fuck I meant red"

A friend got tickets for the Late Late show 5 years ago so was up near the front in the audience. Guests were sh1t that night:(. Myself and my daughter were in the background on some TG4 show when they filmed something in our town. I was interviewed on the radio for the work with the organisation I was involved with at the time

I wasn't on TV or in a film myself, but sometime around 1993 I was stuck in a traffic jam somewhere in LA,

Turns out the reason for the traffic jam was because of a movie set,

All I remember was there was a chap with a crew-cut & 60's glasses carrying a rocket launcher,

I think the film was called "Under Construction".

I saw myself in the crowd of an F1 GP I was at years ago wearing a Jordan tshirt, the one with the hornet logo and black triangles.

(I watched a recording of the GP afterwards.)
