BMW e60 LCI side/angel eye bulb replacement

    Hey guys,

Just noticed that one of the rings on the passenger side headlight on my e60 has gone out. Judging from the brightness of the others they seem to not be far behind. The manual says they bulb type is H8 but that doesn't seem like it would fit at all and from looking online I'm seeing conflicting information, and people seem to have different types depending on year. I'd like to upgrade the bulbs to a white LED while I'm at it but if it's too much hassle, just standard replacement bulbs will do. Does anyone know definitively what bulbs the angel eyes on an LCI e60 with halogen projector headlights use?

    Thanks.

    LCI uses H10W.
Lots of LED compatible ones online of varying quality.
Get 10W minimum LED or it'll be very dim barely visible in daylight.

    Cheers!

Jaysis, LED H10W bulbs are €50+ on eBay! Might just stick with OEM ones :P

OEM halogen bulbs are around the same price.

Just to follow up on this; I've found some 10 watt l.e.d BA9S bulbs that say they are canbus/error free that are only €5 per bulb. Will these work/ is it possible just to remove the current blown bulbs from the cone shape holder or do I need to buy a full unit i.e bulb and cone shape holder? Hope that makes sense.

    Cheer.

I changed mine many years ago. It was a late 2008 LCI with Halogens. You just need to change the bulb from the holder. The bulb is held in place with a piece of plastic (circled in red in photo). This dot of plastic will need to be removed to allow the bulb to be replaced. Just glue back in once bulb has been changed.

The cone assembly/holder can be removed from the headlight but its very difficult to remove and you will need small hands. Once removed the plastic dot can be removed with a sharp knife or I used an old soldering iron to melt it off.

    I used NARVA 17833 bulbs https://tinyurl.com/ycm6ocs3

The Angle eye on the other side went the following week so I would advise you to buy two bulbs.

Just to follow up on this. Removed the bulbs today and fitted 10 watt H10W LED canbus bulbs that I bought. However they wouldn't light up once fitted. I'm assuming this is a resistance problem or something? Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and get a full LED kit like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E60-E61-LCI-Facelift-2007-HALOGEN-ANGEL-EYES-24W-LED-HALO-CREE-WHITE-rings-/292173342452
