Hi. My disability allowance claim has just been sent to the appeals office. Does anyone know approximately how long this takes. Welfare inspector claims I was cohabiting with the father of my children be they witnessed him leaving the house early a few mornings. I explained that he was visiting the kids late and stayed in the spare room. Can they do this

In the letter they sent you refusing you DA, why exactly were you refused?
What kind of an appeal have you sent in? What evidence have you sent that this man is living at another address and not living with you?
Yes of course they can refuse you if the deciding officer thinks that a man is living with you and you haven’t shown them his payslips and bank statements.
It’s up to you now to prove that he’s not living there. That should be easy if he has a rental agreement or a mortgage at another address and utility bills coming to that address, bank statements etc, with his name on them.

Also the CWO assessed my means wrong and I am getting 12 per week less now than when I was on disability. Will this all be backpaid when I win the appeal? I don't need this hassle now. When I was only 21 I was diagnosed with CFS and it really has taken its toll the last few years. It seems like I am being harrassed by them.

Ok so it seems you had DA and now you’ve had it taken away because SW have information that you are cohabiting. Is that what’s happened?

Then in future, don't let your ex stay overnight - ever! Bit of a no-brainer really!
