    Hi guys.

Looking to update my laptop which I have had for years. So what do I need it for ? Essentially streaming tv such as netflix, sports etc is the bulk of it and pretty important. I am also horribly old fashioned in that I use an ethernet cable.

Essentially budget would be 500 euro. Sorry if I am coming across as simple here, I am not computer savvy and an easy mark for whatever shop I have previously bought for.

This can be when buying laptops previously. :P

this one looks good for £409

battery life doesn't seem to be brilliant

amazon is fine for any issues

no ethernet but you can get a usb to ethernet adaptor for £10 or so

otherwise for better battery life and better quad-core i5 cpu

    £480

    very good and long-running site

if you can stretch to the more expensive one, probably worth it as probably has a better screen (ips) and better cpu.
although the other one is not terrible by any means.

more expensive one is also lighter by 250g or so also if you are going to be carrying it around which is noticeable at that weight.

I've ordered the more expensive one. It was the best at it's price point. I don't have it yet, so I can't give you much info, but I was convinced enough to buy and I was looking to spend closer to €400.

    Thanks guys.

It should do the job for streaming shouldn't it? That's a huge part of my computer use these days tbh. (Yes I am naive when it comes to these things):D

Absolutely. Honestly any new computer will do what you need.

yes it will. and also you'll have a decent full hd screen to watch the streaming content on and will run quickly in operation.

life is too short for sh1tty screens and maddingly slow laptops

    Ok firstly the good....

cheers for the recommendation, after a few days where I was busy working and sorting other financial stuff I finally decided to buy this today....

Out of stock and contacted the site and have said no idea when back in stock.:(

I know, I know, I should have bought it sooner after recommendation and apologies from me and this might sound a bit cheeky....

Is there any alternatives with similar qualities for around 500-550 budget.:o

You might be better off. It appears they've cancelled my order without informing me. Only after contacting them twice have they told me that much. I'll be buying elsewhere whenever they actually refund me.
