I culled the bike collection a few years ago but due to running injuries am back on the bike a lot more over the past year. I’m currently back commuting on my only/good bike but would rather keep it for weekends and spare it in the winter. So as the title suggests I’m looking for a second bike. I’ve had a decent trawl through the relevant websites in recent weeks but thought I’d post here too. 54/56cm frame, preferably 105 or Tiagra mix. I’ve no problem with a decent alu frame but would obviously preferably carbon. €500 is my budget. I’m based in Dublin, and hopefully not forgetting anything obvious! Thanks.

I might have a Giant Defy 5 2015 that needs a bit of work. Size 56,
Cables all round and brake blocks for defo, chain, cassette and chain ring soon and maybe a seat post.
Aksiums and Michelin Power All Season Road Bike Tyres are fairly new and running perfectly and frame is in good nick.
Levers have some scrapes and wear and tear but working perfectly.
If you know how to repair bikes, it would be a cracking deal at about 270.

If i had the time, i'd get it running myself.
My mate has it at the moment deciding if he wants to buy his first road bike so ill know soon if you are interested.

You're obviously a grandaddy fan. I've a 54 planet X cx frame that has some dents on the top tube. Frame is free, fork with it 25. That is if interested in building one up of course.

I am indeed. The name also ties in to the day job :/
Thats a kind offer with the frame. I’m not sure a build is for me to be honest, I couldn’t see it being economical.

@irishrover, thanks but not quite what I’m after.

I have an older specialized allez with 10 speed 105 and aksium wheels, 54 cm. it used to be my second bike until it got displaced by a bargain spotted on DoneDeal. Mechanically sound, perfectly functional if a bit dated, would make a grand commuter / hack road bike.
Available for 250, but I may not be up in Dublin for a few weeks.
Different saddle now than pic, and mudguards have moved to other second bike.

I have a 56cm Merida Ride100. It’s the 2016 version but has only done 26km and is as new with out so much as a mark anywhere on it. Alloy frame withcarbon fork. Claris 8 speed shifters wit Sora 3500 RD and Claris FD. Fitted with 11/32 cassette and 50/34 FSA compact chainset. I upgraded the brakes on it from no name items to Tiagra 4700 items and fitted Ultegra 6800 pads as to be honest the factory brakes were dangerous. Very relaxed/sportive type geometry so would be an ideal commuter.

Looking for €350 for it but I’m Letterkenny so probably no use to you.

I have a Allez Specialised, 56". It's about 5 years old, hasn't been used for 2. Still in absolutely great condition. Upgraded to Mavic Ksyrium Elite S wheels (cost €800).

If be willing to let it go for €500 and it is s bargain at that price. The wife is pushing me to get it out of the apartment. I'm Dublin based, Northside.

Thanks lads. Some nice bikes there that would fit the bill. Turns out my OH has her btw coming up so for the same sort of money, coupled with some Autumn sales, I can’t justify not making use of it. Appreciate the responses, I fully intended to get a used bike (and was spending a lot of time on the usual websites) but will ultimately go a different direction.

Buzwaldo what is the gear ratio on that? I'd be interested once I shift my current bike, not happy with the fit

Compact 50-34 on the front. Not sure if the cassette, possibly 12-27,but I can check tomorrow. I probably have an 11-28 knocking about somewhere if needed.
