Upgrading windows to triple glazing

    Hi All,

I am thinking of upgrading the windows in my house to triple glazing. I have a detached house with 11 windows including two bay windows and also a sunroom which is 2.5m x 2.5m.

My main query is if people who have already done this found it to be worthwhile doing and did they notice an increase in the warmth of the house. Also what kind of money would it cost and who can people recommend and do the window companies restore the reveals and all the details around the windows or is that up to me to sort?

    TIA.

Have your house independently surveyed for heatloss first before spending on changing your windows. Your money may well be better spent elsewhere.

    Upgrade from what?

Standard advice is to only upgrade windows when they need replacing anyway. That's from a cost perspective, but you may have a comfort issue that can be fixed more cheaply e.g. insulation, boiler, bigger rads in certain rooms, air tightness.

Only From a cost perspective. Typically windows are the thermally weakest fabric element
