    Hello,

    Just wondering re. people's thoughts.

Just wondering if it is generally worth it to import a recent (say 172 equiv reg, and over the 6000kms so no VAT) Audi A5 or maybe A4 Avant from the UK.

Browsing on older boards threads, for newer ( < 2 yrs old) cars it seems revenue add on VRT for extras/options, which seems to negate a lot of the value you get on a more recent car. One of the big differences with UK cars is that they pile on the extras, but if revenue are looking this up and charging 20%, - well it seems not so appealing

Is the general consensus that best value is on cars over 2 years old and maybe it isn't worth it for cars newer than that due to VRT on extras ?

    Any thoughts?

The OMSP of the non-standard extras does depreciate though. The original value is reduced by 25% if car is between 1 and 2 yrs old. 40% if between 2 and 3 yrs etc.

See Section 8.2.3 of the VRT manual for full details.
