Laptop suggestion

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of picking this up in the north at the weekend, and wondering what you think of the specs? http://www.argos.co.uk/product/8166458

I'm replacing an old samsung laptop which has really passed it's use by date. I use a couple of times a week, and do a small bit of audio editing and streaming audio to an online station.

The piece of junk I have works fine for this at the moment, so I don't think I need anything overly powerful.

€400 would be my absolute maximum budget. Really appreciate any help.

Please excuse my ignorance :-) I read that 4GB should be minimum to be looking for. Is it not capable of running well with that?

Windows will use 2-3GB depending on which way the wind blows leaving you with 1GB ish for everything else you do. You can get away with it but things will become tighter and tighter week to week as websites are crammed with more junk.


That 2nd machine has double the storage and RAM but has a CPU thats a pile of junk.

Basically if my bare minimum was
- Not useless CPU
- 8GB RAM
- 1080P
You wont find it under €400 so it'll be a case of picking your poison.
