Working remotely from Ireland for UK company

I currently live and work in the UK. I'm an Irish citizen and my employer has agreed that I can move home to Ireland and work remotely in the near future.

They are a relatively small employer with no presence in Ireland and no experience of what this means for tax / legal purposes.

Obviously we'll be getting proper legal advice before the actual move but I was wondering if there was any information out there to get the ball rolling on figuring out how it might look.

It seems there are different models around either the company registering for tax in Ireland, or me becoming a contractor and billing them. This presumably has big implications for what rights I maintain, pension, health insurance etc. so it would be good to start considering things.
