Pub crawl Sligo to Dublin

Hi, thinking of organising a pub crawl from my Sligo to Dublin along the train line I.e. hopping off and on again. I don’t know if this has been done before and maybe there’s a reason for it 😂 would there be hassle with tickets hopping off and on again eg buying a ticket from Sligo to Dublin getting off at carrick on Shannon and off again at Longford/mullingar with a Sligo to Dublin ticket?
Also, can anyone recommend a route or any pubs near the following stations?:
Ballymote, Boyle, Carrick on Shannon, Dromod, Longford, Edgeworthstown, Mullingar, Enfield, Kilcock, Maynooth, Leixlip Louisa Bridge and Confey, Clonsilla, Coolmine, Castleknock, Navan Road Parkway, Ashtown, Broombridge, Drumcondra, Connolly, Tara Street and Pearse. Was looking at the route would probably fit in 4-6 stations including the start (Ballymote) and finish point (Connolly, Tara or Pearse) with 2-3 pubs per town if starting in the morning. Hope this is doable!

Did you just finish watching the world's end OP?
I'm sure it's been done before but it's not really a record holding event now

Príck of a ticket inspector gave out to me for getting on in Dromod, working for the day in Ballymote & continuing on in the evening to Sligo, despite having a Dromod/Sligo ticket. Made me buy a new Ballymote to Sligo ticket.

Get to Termonbarry in Roscommon, walk across the Shannon to Cloondara in Longford in about 15 minutes, and walk to Dublin along the Royal Canal. It's a fantastic walk (I did it about 10 years ago from Dublin to Cloondara back to Dublin) with some great pubs along the way. Buy a 2-man tent for €22 in Halfords and you can pitch it for free outside any of those idyllic canal-side pubs that the boats stop off on (although there is a proper, serviced camp site in Enfield), such as Morans in Hill of Down in Meath below:

Train frequency will be the main problem, that will limit the number of places you can stop for a drink..... Less you're starting out at 5am...

Other problem might be train stations are often not near the town centres they serve. I can think of a few where youd have a fair bit of walking to the nearest pub.

    A deliberate tactic.

The troops could dismbark away from centres of population and restless natives , form up and head into town to restore order. If the town already had a barracks you could bring the train line right in.

Geography and the limited turning radius and steepness of climbs also played a factor.

Or you could have a pub crawl in Westport.
    Or along the Dort.
